Cala Formentor

Sandy and pebbled, clear blue waters and a very laid back day are what this exclusive beach have to offer it’s visitors.
Residing just below the famous 5 star “Formentor Hotel” you might even spot a celebrity or two!

There are two ways to get to the beach of Formentor, one is by driving up the twisting and turning roads in car or by local bus which you can catch at the main Bus Stop.

While you are there, perhaps have a coffee in the hotel but expect to pay a lot more than the average price. There is a snack bar in Formentor, but prices are above average, so perhaps consider taking a picnic and your own drinks.

You can of course also get the ferry from the marina in the Port.
This is probably a much more relaxed option to choose as you gently glide across the Bay of Pollensa taking in the stunning views of the Traumuntana Mountains.

Cala San Vicente

A short 10 to 15 minute bus ride away from Puerto Pollensa you will find yourself in the heart of Cala San Vicente.

This small quaint little town has a spectacular beach nestled in one of just 4 small inlets. Featuring silky soft sand and gorgeous turquoise blue waters it’s no wonder why this is such a popular beach.

Don’t forget to bring a snorkel as hidden below the sea there are a series of underwater caves! All throughout the Summer a lifeguard is present, normally hanging out a colored flag to signify the safety of swimming and even if there are a few jellyfish around.

Cala Boquer

The road starts in Port de Pollença at the left of Formentor road there is a path surrounded by pine trees that is the entrance to the Possessió de Bóquer. Once there crossing an iron gate passing through two big rocks and after the green pine trees area we can observe the archaeology jewel of the area, a group of one of the most important nave style constructions known and a lime oven that was active until 1935.

Once you reach the highest peak on the walk you can see some spectacular views looking down onto the beach of Cala Boquer and the secluded inlet.
It takes in total around about an hour to walk down to the beach and back. But be warned that the way you go is the only way back!

Cala San Vicente

The idyllic resort of Cala San Vicente is not so difficult to reach from Puerto Pollensa. The mountains on the west fall away at the Coll De Siller to entice us over. The area has long been a favourite with artists wanting to paint and you’ll soon see why, as the steep surrounding cliffs become more pronounced and the colour of the sea like something you’ve mixed on your palette.

Start from roundabout on sea front (next to taxi rank).Walk up main Pollensa road to the petrol station.
Just before the petrol station on the right hand side, turn into street Carrer de Cala Sant Vicenc. At the end of this street you will see the ring road. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing and head straight into Carrer de les Roses.
This street forks at the end. Take the left fork and follow the road where it will take a sharp right hand bend and then continue straight to the end of the street.

You will see the hills ahead of you at the end of the street and the road name is repeated (Carrer de les Roses)
Turn left here and walk along the road (there is a crash barrier to your left and a wall to your right).
Take the first turning on your right. There will be a metal sign on the wall saying SILLER and there should be a wooden signpost saying Cami de Siller al Coll de Siller (if it hasn’t been taken down again).

A short way up the track there are three pathways.

Take the middle path (ignore the no entry symbols) which has a breezeblock wall on your left and a stone wall topped by wire fencing on your right.

The path leads you past a house where there are double gates open just enough for one person at a time to pass through. Ignore the Propiedad Privada Prohibido El Paso sign as this applies to vehicles only.

Follow the track up through the pass. You will join a rough wide track at the top. Follow this until you come to a massive roundabout.

Follow the track down into Cala St Vicente
